Free website check
Does your website bring you new customers?
Enter your address. Google PageSpeed Insights measures how fast your website loads on a phone, and we check 13 points that decide whether people become customers: Do Google and ChatGPT find your details? Can customers reach you with one tap? Is your privacy policy linked? Free, no sign-up.
This usually takes 10 to 30 seconds.
- Load the home page
- Check the contact page and the legal pages
- Check the details for Google and AI assistants
- Google PageSpeed Insights measures the loading time on a phone
An example result with made-up values: four scores from Google PageSpeed Insights and three points, met or not met.
What we check
13 points that decide whether people become customers
A good website gets found, convinces at first glance and makes it easy to reach you. That is exactly what we check.
Being found
Business details provided to Google in machine-readable form
Google and AI assistants read your name, address, phone and opening hours reliably instead of guessing them from the text.
Description for the Google results list present
This text often appears under your name in Google results. Without it, Google picks an excerpt itself.
Page directory for search engines present
A sitemap shows search engines every page of your website, including the ones few links lead to.
Summary for AI assistants present
A short summary at /llms.txt, a young proposal made for AI assistants such as ChatGPT.
Convincing
Set up for phones
Without this setting a phone shows a shrunken desktop view, and visitors have to zoom.
Main content visible on a phone in under 2.5 seconds
Google names 2.5 seconds as the limit for a good loading time. People searching on the go do not like to wait longer.
Text with sufficient contrast
Text with too little contrast is hard to read in sunlight and for older visitors.
Making contact easy
Phone number can be tapped
On a phone, one tap on the number starts the call, no typing needed.
Inquiry form present
People who cannot call right now write to you through the form, in the evening and on weekends too.
Appointments bookable online
Visitors book an appointment when it suits them, without calling.
Trust and law
Encrypted connection
Browsers mark pages without encryption as not secure, and what visitors type into forms stays protected.
No data sent to third parties on page load, such as Google Fonts
Fonts, maps or videos from other servers pass your visitors' IP address to those providers while the page loads.
Legal notice and privacy policy linked
Visitors, and the laws of some states such as California, expect a privacy policy that is easy to find from the home page.
Two more points need a real browser and are left out here: whether the page fits the phone screen without sideways scrolling, and whether a way to get in touch shows without scrolling.
AI search
Is your website ready for ChatGPT?
More and more people ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI answers for a practice or a contractor nearby. These assistants read websites and pass on what they can make out there with confidence.
Four points of the check aim at exactly that: business details in machine-readable schema.org form (name, address, phone, opening hours), a page description, a sitemap (sitemap.xml) and an llms.txt, a short summary for AI assistants.
llms.txt is a young proposal (llmstxt.org); the providers do not disclose how much they use it. Nobody can promise that an assistant names your business. These points make it easier for it to find the right details.
An illustration with a made-up business: someone asks an AI assistant when Main Street Physical Therapy is open today. The assistant answers with the name, address, phone and opening hours from the practice's website.
How we measure
Measured, not estimated
Measured by Google
Speed, accessibility, technology and search engines are measured by Google PageSpeed Insights with a phone profile. You can repeat any measurement there yourself. A measurement usually takes 10 to 30 seconds, and results vary a little between runs, because networks and servers never answer equally fast.
We check the rest ourselves
We load your home page, the contact page it links to, the sitemap.xml and the llms.txt as your server delivers them. What a script adds only after loading, we do not see.
Kept for 24 hours
For the same address we show the same result for 24 hours instead of measuring again.
Questions
Questions about the website check
What does the website check cost?
Nothing. You need neither an account nor an email address. We only ask for your email address if you request a free preview of your new website.
Why does the result differ from my last measurement?
PageSpeed Insights measures afresh every time, and networks and servers never answer equally fast. Differences of a few points are normal. For the same address we show the same result for 24 hours.
Can I check any website?
Any publicly reachable website. We do not check addresses in private networks or bare IP addresses.
What data is stored?
The address checked, the result and where your visit came from, plus a one-way hash of your IP address and browser identifier to limit the number of checks. We delete this data after twelve months.
How do I get the missing points?
You can take them up with your current provider. Or request a free preview: we turn your current website into a new one, with online booking and everything Google and AI assistants need. You see it before you decide.
